Internet and mobile phones in Serbia:
100 Serbs have 79 mobile phones
100 Montenegrins have 90 mobile phones
(Compared to 100 Swedes who have 112 phones, source Telenor)
A Serbian mobile phone user spends 10.50 Euro per month for his phone ("ARPU")
41 % of Serbian households (without Kosovo) own a computer (Belgrade: 55 %, rural areas 28 %)
33 % of households use Internet (home, work, school..) (Belgrade: 53 %, rural areas 19 %)
24 % of the Serbs use Internet (Belgrade 42 %, rural areas 12%, 31 % of males, 17 % of females, 49 % of 15-29year olds, 11 % of 50-64year olds)
77 % of university students, 66 % of students and pupils use internet
Internet use in the Balkans
Main reason for Internet Non-usage is the the statement "I do not need it" 47.1 %, and 52.1 % of the non-users do not intend to use it in the future.
77 % of the users have dial access at home, only 23 % have ADSL or cable access.
Music is the most searched content, politics and religion the last.
